Telec Certification

Japan’s Radio Law requires that the designated radio equipment be subject to type approval (i.e., technical regulation compliance certification). TELEC certification is mandatory. The certification authority is the registered certification authority recognized by MIC in the designated range of radio equipment. TELEC (TelecomEngineering Center) is the main registered certification authority for compliance certification of radio equipment in Japan. TELEC is also called MIC certification in Japan. TELEC is one of the designated certification authorities of MIC, so it is collectively referred to as TELEC certification.

TELEC Certification Standards

For the technical standards certified by TELEC, see the classification and technical standards of designated radio equipment listed in the technical regulation compliance certification system on its official website. It is worth noting that in case of any difference between these technical standards and the technical requirements of the Radio Regulation Commission Rules No.18, the Radio Regulation shall prevail.
