Sirim Certification
SIRIM is the only certification authority in Malaysia. All electronic products entering Malaysia need to apply for SIRIM certification. In principle, the applicant should be a local institution in Malaysia. The application and management of SIRIM certification is the specific responsibility of SIRIM QASIInternational, which issues SIRIM certificates.
Malaysia’s product certification system is divided into compulsory certification and voluntary certification. Communication equipment and 31 categories of electrical products specified in the Regulations on the Approval of Electrical Equipment shall be subject to mandatory type certification and safety certification respectively, and other products are subject to voluntary certification. At present, Malaysia has not implemented mandatory requirements for electromagnetic compatibility.
Application requirements
Preparation of SIRIM certification data;
- Need to provide local representatives (companies registered locally);
- SIRIM certification application form;
- Complete signed<>;
- Product instructions in English;
- Five prototypes;
After receiving the above documents, ITC laboratory will issue a report and submit it to Malaysia for review and certification.

The regular period is 3-5 weeks, which can be expedited, and the expedited period requires additional charges.
