UKCA Certification
UKCA mark is a new British product mark, which will be used for products sold in the UK (England, Wales and Scotland) market. It covers most goods that previously required CE mark. The UKCA mark does not apply to goods sold in the Northern Ireland market.
When to use the UKCA logo:
After January 1, 2021, products that meet all the following conditions need to be marked with new UKCA immediately.
- Products manufactured for the UK market;
- The UKCA logo must be used according to the law; 3. Products requiring mandatory third-party conformity assessment;
- The product has been subject to conformity assessment at the UK conformity assessment agency, but before January 1, 2021, the conformity assessment document has not been transferred from the UK agency to the EU-approved agency (if the transfer is successful, it will be regarded as equivalent to CE certification, and the CE mark can be used to continue to sell in the UK market, without the use of the UKCA mark).
How to use the UKCA flag:
(1) How to place the UKCA logo:
In most cases, the UKCA logo must be used on the product itself or on the package. In some cases, it may be placed on manuals or other supporting documents. This will vary according to the specific provisions applicable to the product.
General applicable rules:
- The UKCA logo can only be placed on the product by the manufacturer or authorized representative (if permitted by relevant laws and regulations);
- When the UKCA mark is affixed, the manufacturer or authorized representative shall be fully responsible for the product’s compliance with the requirements of relevant laws;
- Only UKCA logo can be used to show that the product complies with relevant British laws;
- The manufacturer or authorized representative cannot place any mark or mark on the product that may misunderstand the meaning or form of the UKCA mark to a third party;
- No other marks affecting the visibility, legibility or meaning of the UKCA logo shall be attached to the product;
- Unless required by law, the UKCA mark cannot be used on the product.
(2) Rules for using UKCA images:
It must be ensured that when the sign is reduced or enlarged, the UKCA sign composed of letters must have the same proportion as the version listed below. The height of the UKCA logo shall be at least 5mm, unless the relevant laws stipulate different minimum dimensions. The UKCA mark must be clearly visible (it must be permanently attached to the product from January 1, 2023).
